MY OLD BLOG-CANTERBURY CIRCA 2001/2002

I know this could be a boring subject to write but to me, i need to put all my canterbury memories in words...because i want each and everyone of this people to know, somehow ....in many ways we have crossed a similar path....and they've touched my life ...

Do you still remember our late evening adscene newspaper delivery?. I can still remember it vividly!. I remember falling off our bikes on a snowy day simply because we were too naive to know that we were not supposed to brake harshly on icy surfaces...[i fact now i believe we should have not been riding a bike at all on that snowy day..we could have injured ourself.......]...do you still remember our experiements in the kitchen?...we made nasi himpit and rendang for the eid and a few variety of traditional eid biscuits....we never thought we could do it...but we ended up as the only house in canterbury with rendang and nasi himpit for hari raya!...lina...i can also remember your delicious laksa kelantan you've made on a cold english morning...kalaulah mat salleh makan laksa memang diorang akan tabik kat mu mek na!!! imagine that pakai ikan mackerel dari asda to make laksa....creative or what????!!!!!...do you still remember the party we threw for RON and MIHO, jOE and those taiwanese gals?....i still got a photo of that occasion....we made satay using the house's rickety old grill and caused the fire alarm to set off twice...gilos kan?...and do you still remember my first strawberry cake i made under your supervision?...i was so proud of it and i made you take photos of it to send to my mum....uh lina i wish we are as carefree as we were back then...

Do you remember the time when you used to sacrificed your privacy to accomodate me in your room because andrew came to visit?..i really appreciate that ..we even had slumber parties in your room ...you , me, lina and rahmah ...i got a picture to remember those days by..u want me to post it in friendster??heheheh.....i can also remember when it's your turn to cook you will always cook your famous kuah kicap with spices ...it was gorgeous ....i like it a lot chik...masaklah untuk akak lagi ..and who can forget your very spicy sambal tumis ...sedapnyer!....and of course who can never forget the fact that you are my best buddy when it comes to going shopping for clothes....newlook, debenham,bhs....uh dan byk lagilah....akak windu shopping with u.....

You were assigned to the hottest room in the house ...and it came with a cost ...we took your room as the 'lepakking ' place when the temperature is below the malaysia rainy day temperature!...i knew you since matric years and you are a special character ..keep i up gal !

FRIEND ONCE FOE NOW - NOT 4EVA I HOPE...Soweeyyy we gaduh a lot mate!...ct ni mulut takde insurance so forgive me lah...you are a nice reserve character ..you are always rationale and maybe a bit uptight but maybe i was a bit too loose...either way we were friends once and i wish we can be friends again and let the bygone be the bygone if possible....?

Shaggy i knew you mostly in uk ...we were quite okay together and we shared our feelings on facing the death of our fathers....you went through a bad patch then but way to go girl you managed to get through it pretty well....i'm proud to be your friend!..am i your friend??? :0)

You are one of the few persons in the world that i'm always comfortable with... i like being your friends because you made me feel like i will always have a friend to talk to...thanks for teaching me to read the quran maser kat DAMAI...May Allah bless you for that !...Dal..thank you to you and your family for adopting me on the Eid of 2000...i really appreciate that..without you and your family that Eid i will be a lonely pekan girl celebrating the eid by myself because everybody went to malaysian hall ...i still remember that morning we went to Steven bate's house to invite him to the eid party at Nik's house and you were wearing only a pair of slippers..and it was snowing !..and it happened to be that you were the one who phoned me the morning it first snowed in canterbury [after 15 years of none...]you said ...guess what ..my mum's wish came true ...I can still remember the murtabak your family made for ramadhan ..wow it was such a hit !....dal i'm glad we have crossed each other's path.......TO BE CONTINUED ...ADA KELAS LAH WEI ...NANTI SAMBUNG LAGI

We rocked back then...do you still remember all the chatting sessions on the pieces of paper during class time?....iyerlah all the boring lectures by Paul and John....we were busy chatting on the paper we hardly got anything out of those mind numbing lectures..[well maybe you did get something in...but not me!]Guess what ?..i remember your Cute Tristan...aiyo achik i don't know what happened between you guys but mamat tu kiut giler ...but i'm sure Zul is your 'Diamond Umbrella ' FOR LIFE![Congrates achik...sowey aku tak pi kawin korang ..]..i definately wish we can sit down again ..just you and me and our darling mate Azmah, and talk about those old days!

I don't really know Lobo and Adli that well but i know they are very nice guys and i remember you lobo as the guy who can speak fluent arabic and you befriended those arabs in college...but nowdays maybe i know you a little bit more ...and i do remember lobo, the first time we talked was at MPIK'S gym and i've told you if you haven't been sick during Sukma V i would have met you in pekan as i was in charged of the site where they had the body builder competition that you were supposed to take part in...how the world is such a small place ....congratulation on your recent wedding ..moga bahagia ke anak cucu...[jom pindah uk!]
Adli , i know you can sing very well...keep it up! Nik, our friendship goes a long way ...but terbantut separuh jalan because i got involved with andrew and everybody hated me for that ..i'm sorry if i've hurt your feelings and zafry's by picking a fight with yati you dearest friend and for kicking out kakak lecturer itm and her 4 kids out of 22 north holmes road ....i was selfish soweeyy..can we patch up and be friend again?...i love to meet you and zafry again and talk like old buddies.....

You are my BESTEST, 'GOODEST' , COOLEST....friend ..we were like inseparable in canterbury ..we did everything together and went through thick and thin together . You sacrificed your room for andrew and i really appreciate that ..you are the nicest friend a girl could ever asked for ..do you remember the time we ditch a class simply because you were helping me to prepare a surprise birthday party for andrew?..the party was great ..hey what happen to those cute Dutch guys ? And do you remember our Stephaney Green experience?..orang pi teaching practice kiter pi praktis our shopping skills kat Oxford Circus!..Almost everyday! Our friendship went back a long time and i'm very happy i got the chance to know you az..you are my best bud for ever !..my love to danial and diana!

I can't really remember who are the members of the house in front of sab's house but i remember mai the most ...i think you are very pretty and you got a pretty name to go with it ..i always like the name hana and if i got a little girl later in life i will name her hannah ...and that's for sure!...mai , do you remember the time you asked me to cut your har?...i'm glad it went quite ok...i was scared to do it ..i thought i might ruin it and make you cry..but luckily chik helped to trim it further and make it look even nicer ....you did look quite nice with short hair...!!!!...

I can't really remember all of sze ying housemates but i can remember their faces ...silly me i'm very forgetful!can anyone remind me of them?...i remember having a nice party at their house and they made us a very nice authentic chinese chicken rice and even went through all the trouble of getting us some halal chickens to make it .....thank you guys..

Hi guys...i 'm not that close to you guys but i do remember a not so happy encounter at the youth centre near st paul's cathederal london when you guys were upset with me because i don't want to be separated from azmah and stayed in a nother room to accomodate somebody for you guys...soweey ...i was stubborn and a bit insecure ..azmah was my only friend there and i'm not happy to stay with a stranger instead of her ..hope you guys are not still angry at me ?? ...i will remember your spikey hair zili and you cikgu mickey ..take care may allah bless you ..always...

i can never forget you jimmy ...you brighten up any situation wherever you go ...but i can still recall one incident when you almost got me in trouble with andrew?..that night i took andrew to azmah's house to introduce him to az and you answered the door and you said ..'hey ct , is this paul?' boy did i have a lot to explain that night!!!!but jimmy don't be upset , andrew was not mad at me ....where are you now jimmy??

i know i will never ever be able to record all the memories in canterbury that accurately but at least i got something to remind me of the dearest journey of my life lest in the future the cobwebs of time shall tarnish me of my concious memories........
....AND IT ALL SEEMS LIKE YESTERDAY WE ARRIVED AT HEATHROW AIRPORT ALL EXCITED AND THANKFUL WE MANAGED TO STEP ON ENGLISH SOIL....
